Trip times vary depending on the season. The guide will determine the departure time prior to the trip. Most trips leave around first light.
All rods, reels, tackle, bait, gasoline, parking fees and
adult life jackets are included. If you're bringing small children, you need to have an appropriate sized life jacket.
I fish from a 2017 22 foot Wellcraft center console boat with very comfortable seating. Customers will need to have a valid Virginia freshwater fishing license prior to the trip. These can be purchased at most Wal-Marts, the marina and online at Please do not wait till the morning of your trip to obtain your fishing license. I recommend this due to valuable prime time fishing being lost while waiting for computers to work or not work.!! Dress appropriately for the weather and bring sunscreen, food and drinks.

My trips in the spring/fall mostly consist of live bait fish run on planer boards and floats, deploying up to 12 lines at once. During the summer season when the fish are deep, I target them by trolling with large rigs and on occasion use live bait. If you have a special request, just ask!!! Also at times, I may use another Marina that is closer to the fishing grounds and bait. I will advise you prior to the trip of the exact location or meeting point.
In the summertime when water temperatures are above 80 degrees, the guide may decide to come off the water after
the legal limit has been reached.
This is due to a higher fish mortality rate in warmer water.
